Stacey Gruver: Erosion is Self Care

Erosion is Self Care

to reject starvation

cultivate hollowness, make room

for your hunger, summon a river and

let your current eat its way through

bedrock, let your current carve a cavern

to shelter the beginnings of your appetite--

your sightless birds, eyeless deer,

serpents transparent with need

be a good shepherd and your flocks

will multiply, will spread, will feed you
