Music Friyay: Blondie, Slowdive, Curtis Harding
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
Blondie - Pollinator
Blondie’s 11th studio album, released in 2017, is a complete gem. The album sifts through pop-punk, alternative, and reggae. My favorite: “Long Time.”
Slowdive - Souvlaki
The band’s iconic 1993 album is often underrated, but it’s every shoegaze lover’s dream. Bands like Beach House clearly took a leaf out of their book. My favorite: '“When the Sun Hits.”
Curtis Harding - Face Your Fear
Harding is a musician may not have heard of yet, but he’s the real deal. He mixes soul, funk, and electronic beats in a way that is both nostalgic and completely new. His 2017 album needs to be explored over and over. My favorite: “Wednesday Morning Atonement.”
